Keynote at St Vincent de Paul Society’s National Meeting 2024

The St Vincent de Paul Society (England and Wales) invited the School for Synodality to join a number of speakers for the SVP National Meeting, and as the charity celebrates its 180th anniversary.

The annual meeting brought together experts and thought leaders from across the faith, poverty, social justice, asylum, academic and environmental sectors for a three-day event between 27th -29th June 2024.

Avril Baigent from the School for Synodality addressed the event, alongside the other guest speakers: Children’s Commissioner for England Wales Dame Rachel de Souza, Chief Executive of the Trussell Trust Emma Revie, Chair of the Institute of Global Homelessness Baroness Casey, motivational speaker David Wells, Head of Environment for Salford Diocese Dr Emma Gardner, National President for SVP India Jude Mangalraj, and Afghan refugee, author and TEDx speaker Gulwali Passarlay, CAFOD research fellow Gareth Rowe and DePaul International Chief Executive Matthew Carter.

In addition to keynote addresses, the annual meeting gave the opportunity for various breakout sessions, networking, and a celebratory Mass led by Bishop Tom Williams.
